About

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the world was faced with the unexpected consequences of a pandemic and was forced into a quarantine culture. During this time, students were confronted with an unprecedented and uncomfortable transition to online education. Nationally, news outlets reported about the difficult transition students experienced in online learning. But despite the rough shift, the accessibility and equitable opportunities of online learning became apparent.  Since then, the face of higher education has no longer held the "in-person" stereotype it once did and largely moved to online education.

In 2022, the state of Texas recognized that accessibility should be prioritized over "brand-name" degrees and decided that Texas universities should be combined together into Texas United University, established in 2023.  The all-encompassing university provided common excellence in higher education all across Texas.

In 2025, TUU decided to create "satellite centers" that would span city-wide to further support student accessibility and technology support.
